General Background Information:
Amie Bauer joined the firm in April of 2023 following three years as General Counsel and Executive Director of Communications and later Vice President of Administration at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. In her role at Bethany, Amie served as the College’s chief legal advisor and was part of the President’s cabinet, overseeing Facility and IT departments, leading the College’s initial COVID-19 response task force. She was also responsible for managing the monitoring of and compliance with various regulatory changes and helped lead major building and property renovations on the 141-year-old Bethany campus.
Prior to her tenure at Bethany, Amie was in private practice emphasizing family law, guardianship, and adoption. She also served as a city prosecutor, and municipal judge in various municipalities.
In the area of alternative dispute resolution, Amie has been a Kansas certified mediator and served a short time as part of the restorative justice victim offender mediation program in Saline County and a limited case manager and mediator as part of the Ninth Judicial District Triage program.
A Colby native and graduate of Colby High School, Amie graduated from Bethany College magna cum laude with a B.A. in Communications. At Washburn Law, Amie was a member of the moot court competition team.
Amie and her husband, Chris, a Kansas State Trooper, reside in Lindsborg – their home for nearly 20 years – with their three daughters.
After a short time of work outside the traditional law practice, Amie has more of a passion to help clients streamline and simplify compliance measures to manage risks in a time when communication and collaboration to be one of the biggest challenges for Kansas employers.
